Esterhall

Esterhall

Esterall is a territory without an official ruler. Instead, Esterhall is ruled by an elected board of eight officials, four from Grelach and four from Browen. The land is shared due to the religious convictions of Grelach and Browne. Those in Esterhall are often dressed simply, with flowing gowns and tunics. The land is vast and wild and the only true city is that of Brightloch. The rest of the land is thick forest and has been deemed uninhabitable and undesireable by other territories and kingdoms.

Esterhall was given to Browen and Grelach to end the War of King Celeas and appease their wishes to keep the Old Gods.

Brightloch:

Brightloch is home to a collection of priests and priestesses who follow a historically polytheistic religious faith.. They believe in the astrological fate of the stars, feeling that everything is predestined and worship and honor the natural world. Those who wish to come develop their skills come to Brightloch for guidance, but only upon invitation. Those who come to Brightloch without invitation will be sent to the Esterhall Council.

Every year Brightloch sends out students in search for those it considers ‘seers’, those already gifted with psychic abilities who might have a calling in Brightloch’s services. In both Browen and Grelach, children who are deemed ‘seers’ are taken from their families and raised within Brightloch by the community there.

A small port exists along the coast for receiving trade via ship, but the island is mostly self sufficient and far enough South to avoid long, harsh winters endured in the North.
